New born and Babies
Newborn baby photoshoots are an absolute favourite part of my profession. Having the privilege to capture a newborn baby and their family at such a special time is a real honour. Creating an environment that is natural, gentle and calm allows me the chance to take photographs which exude the feeling, love and excitement. I like to take a longer over these shoots to allow the parents and babies the time to relax into the session to allows us to capture this fragile and beautiful time in all of its glory.
For new born babies it is important to capture them at their earliest opportunity. By having the session within their first three weeks it allows you the chance to get the images before they begin to change (as they do, very rapidly!). It is also a time where they will remain in a cosy curled up position that exccentuates the "newborn" shot and another big bonus is they love to sleep a lot which helps create peaceful, beautiful images.
Booking these shots are advisable to do so between 22 and 32 weeks as it allows you the chance to secure your photoshoot (the exact date can be arranged once the little one arrives!). This not only gives you the security of knowing that you have the session in my schedule, but also the excitement to look forward to one of your first new family experience together!
Capturing the
special shots
Simply patients! Newborn babies are on their own schedule and we need to work with them. Our goal for these shoots is to get it them at their best so I like to take as long as needed. I do not book out other sessions on these days as I know in those early few weeks how difficult it can be to get out of the house on time and at such a wonderful point in life there is no need to rush.
The special parts
I like to take shots that truly represent a babies early days. Those tiny toes, little hands and adorable little expressions that melt our hearts are to be treasured and I love to focus on those unique opportunities that are the first glimpses of your babies personality.
The connection
A moment between a newborn baby and their parents is a remarkable poignant image, one that stays forever, these first interactions are what connects us to a children which form a bond that grows and deepens. Capturing those special times can transport us back to those first few weeks many years later and remind us of where it all began.
Our session
I take an easy going approach, without time restrictions to allow us the opportunity to get just the right shot. With new borns babies we are on their time and I know how those first few months can be, so this photoshoot is all about being relaxed, enjoying the experience and making precious memories.
My Aim is to capture intimate shots of the bond between you and your baby, the gentle loving touch, feelings and expressions that having a new born child give us.
On the day
I offer these shoots at my house in my home studio or I can visit your home if you would prefer and have this as my only booking for the day. This allows you to take your time, settle you newborn baby and yourself allowing everyone to relax and enjoy this wonderful experience. We will have already discussed the type of photographs that you would like to receive, but as your new baby is developing their own personality we can look to incorporate their new little traits into your babies shots and capture the first glimpses.
I like to shoot natural shots, avoiding props and gimmicks as the love and emotions which are unique to this point in life between you and your baby is the true essence of beauty that we are looking to encapsulate and a moment that must be timeless for you to hold onto forever.
